Cortex Workspace is a desktop app. Today it supports:
It does not offer a full workspace app for Linux, iOS, or Android. On a phone or tablet, you can start sign-up or receive an install email, then continue setup on a Mac or Windows computer.
Day-to-day local files, Office work, and browser automation run in Desktop, not in the marketing-site chat. See Web vs Desktop.

Cortex Workspace is built on VS Code, but it ships a heavier stack (Office viewing, browser automation, and the AI agent). Use the Cortex requirements below — not the lighter vanilla VS Code floors alone.

Why RAM and disk are higher than base VS Code: Cortex bundles Office document viewing, a browser-automation runtime, and an AI agent that can drive Chromium. Those components need more memory and free disk than a plain code editor.
If the app feels slow, crashes under multi-app workflows, or install fails for space reasons, compare your machine to the Recommended column and free disk space first.
